On behalf of the whole staff of the Laboratory of Optoelectronics (OPTOLAB), it is a pleasure to welcome you to our Website. After almost twenty years of life since its establishment, Optolab is grown into a network of Laboratories and associated high-tech (spin-off) companies.
The Laboratory of Optoelectronics at the University of Brescia can cover a wide spectrum of research, ranging from 2-D and 3-D vision, to optical systems for dimensional measurement and quality control, to biomedical applications of lasers and optics.
The OPTOLAB Laboratory is constantly operating in close contact with other laboratories, both national and international, and its researchers are members of the most distinguished associations of Optics and Laser Research and Applications. Moreover, our commitment has been, right from the start, to operate in close connection with the industrial environment. Our main goal is in fact to provide industries with:
(i) know-how, by way of Technology Transfer;
(ii) access to research, through an articulated program of common activities between industry and the Laboratory;
(iii) consultancy;
(iv) access to industrial property, by means of licensing and patent transfer.
Three start-ups, namely OPenTechnologies s.r.l., Q-tech s.r.l. and Norox s.r.l. have been incubated within the Laboratory, and are able to provide the market with measuring instruments, sensors, technology and consultancy on a wide spectrum of activities. Other companies, such as former Optolab customers, joined what can be defined the Optolab Project, to form a small, but significant technological pole in the field of optoelectronics and of their applications.
This is why my coworkers and I believe that the Laboratories and their partners should be considered, by all industrial operators in Italy and worldwide, a reliable contact for applied research and development of modern optical and electrooptical instrumentation. Please do not hesitate contacting us for every need in terms of know how transfer, common projects, consultancy, teaching and training on the topics of our activities.
The head of the Laboratory
Prof. Giovanna Sansoni
